The Schenectady PBA is an independent labor union who is affiliated with the Police Conference of New York, the Northeastern Police Conference, and the National Association of Police Organizations. It is funded and run by the City of Schenectady police officers, duly registered as a New York State Not-For-Profit Corporation. The PBA is governed by a nine member executive board, which is elected from association members. This Association was duly organized on September 8, 1911 and was known as the Electric City Patrolman’s Benefit Association. The Association was then duly constituted on February 15, 1922 and known under the name of the Schenectady Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association.

The Schenectady PBA is a strong police union that represents approximately 300 active and retired members. The PBA works hard for the betterment of our members who work hard everyday to protect and serve the citizens of the City of Schenectady.
